Day of Dana
December 15, 2007 Once a year, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we invite 36 families in need to ZCLA for a day of celebration. Dana is Sanskrit and means “generosity.” The day is a generous exchange of rituals, songs, playfulness, and gifts. The families are selected by Nancy Spear and Fidel Sanchez whose organization – Caminos de Esperanza Cultural Center – cares for families from our neighborhood; we have worked with them for many years. Our Day of Dana project evolved out of ZCLA’s Dana Basket tradition. Here you can find the schedule for the Day of Dana 2007 We will need a lot of support on the day itself. Click here for volunteer option. You have to send me an email to sign up, the web will not safe your cahnges.
